KUALA LUMPUR, March 6 – Russian movie <Tesnota> won 4 awards at the 2nd Malaysia Golden Global Awards (MGGA) that took place over the weekend including The Best New Director, The Best Supporting Actor, The Best Actress and the night biggest award, The Best Film.

Malaysia local film – <Shuttle Life> won the Audience Choice Award which the main actor Jack Tan was particularly excited about despite not winning Best Actor, because not only did his movie win but it was also his birthday that day. The winner of supporting actress – Zhou Mei Jun has sent her appreciation to the director Vivian Qu for giving a chance for her to film in <Angels Wear White> which let her won in 2nd Malaysia Golden Global Awards.

71 years old Hong Kong famous director Ann Hui was the spotlight at the award night. She was given the grand prize of the Lifetime Achievement Award for her contributions to film especially in Hong Kong as she has made over 25 movies to date. Hui may have directed fewer than 30 films in a career that has spanned nearly four decades, but she holds the record for most wins in the category of Best Director Awards at the Hong Kong Film Awards. She also receives the Asian Filmmaker of the Year Award from the Busan International Film Festival.

Hamed Behdad named best actor at Malaysia Golden Global Awards. The movie, which is Mohsen Gharaei’s directorial debut, received six nominations, including best film, best director and best screenplay, at the Malaysia Golden Global Awards in early January.
